Droylsden Academy Address School Noise Using Sonata Duo
Droylsden Academy-built in 2009 is a new secondary school based in Manchester. The school was keen to reduce the levels of noise the open areas were creating and contacted Sonata Acoustics to solve their noise issues. The hard acoustically reflective surfaces within the new building had lead to unacceptable levels of sound reverberation and clearly needed treating.
Noise problems within schools and places of education are typical of many contemporary designs, addressing sound issues within school halls, corridors and classrooms is something whichSonata Acoustics have often treated.
Working closely with the Droylsden Academy; Sonata were able to provide a detailed assessment of the rooms in question and give an estimate of sound absorption panels needed. The academy were keen to enhance the aesthetics design of the new building and decided to use innovative free space absorbers. Sonata installed multiple Sonata Duo absorbers arranged in a descending spiral formation. The end result not only provided Class A sound absorption but created a visually stunning backdrop to the school.
Sonata offers an extensive range of solutions using sound absorption panels. Panels are available in a variety of designs and sizes. Panels can be bespoke and made to order and come in range of colours to suit any environment. Once installed they provide a beautiful solution to any absorption problem.
Sonata Acoustics use an innovative non-shedding acoustic foam, as opposed to the mineral fibre materials found in most other absorbent products. The use of non-shedding , non-itching materials in environments such as education or healthcare is much preferred by end user and installer alike.
